Andrews Chair in Accounting in the Williamson College of Business Administration at Youngstown State University, is a recipient of the 2015 Outstanding Accounting Educator Award presented by the American Accounting Association (AAA) and sponsored by the PricewaterhouseCoopers Foundation.

William (Bill) Pallante, BSBA '87 & MBA '92 - Executive Fellow

Mr. William (Bill) Pallante graduated from YSU with his bachelor’s degree in Marketing in 1987 with honors - magna cum laude. Upon graduation Mr. Pallante began working for Thomas Steel Strip Corporation (TSSC) located in Warren, Ohio. In 1992, Mr. Pallante enrolled into WCBA’s Excecutive MBA program and graduated summa cum laude in 1994.

Mr. Brian Wolf joined the Youngstown State University Foundation July 2015. He holds the position of Development Officer for the Williamson College of Business Administration. In addition to focusing on the development of WCBA, Mr. Wolf is responsible for supporting campus wide campaigns.

WCBA students network at semi-annual student summit scheduled for Friday, Sept. 11. The Summit focuses on topics related to career development and professionalism.

Friday, September 11 from 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
The Professional Development Summit is a half-day workshop that is designed for WCBA students entering their junior year of college.

The Summit focuses on topics related to career development and professionalism including information on internships, global learning experiences, a question and answer session with employers, and a networking luncheon with faculty. During the summit, students work on an action plan for success to help them set goals to be career-ready upon graduation. All business students starting their upper division business courses are required to attend. Professional business attire is required. YSU business students have the opportunity to attend panel sessions on topics such as employment opportunities in public, management, governmental, and nonprofit accounting; employment opportunities in financial services; accounting entrepreneurship; forensic accounting; communication and networking skills; professional exams; graduate school; accounting for manufacturing; accounting issues for small businesses; the Certified Financial Planner and the Certified Financial Analyst certifications; what the first two years of professional life is like; and speed networking.  Human resource representatives from accounting and financial service firms will also be available for networking.

The Marketing/Advertising Professional Shadow Day is an integral part of WCBA’s business engagement initiative. It provides our students with unique opportunities to observe and interact with regional businesses and to explore possible career opportunities. The event starts with a kick-off program at WCBA with featured keynote speaker followed by students shadowing the business executives for a day at the host organizations’ locations. The goal is to further the student’s experience and develop well-prepared marketing professionals ready for a wide variety of advertising and marketing opportunities available in today’s competitive business world.

EIP graduates 2014 (Ceremony in Columbus)

Offered by the Williamson Center for International Business in partnership with the Ohio Development Services Agency, the Ohio Export Internship Program combines a spring semester export-focused course with a paid summer internship centered on expanding a company’s international market. The opportunity provides a way for undergraduate students to get real global business experience right here in Ohio.

All business majors in the Williamson College of Business Administration are invited to apply for the WCBA Undergraduate Student Leadership Council.
Members will

  • Participate in student recruitment events as greeters, panelists, and tour guides
  • Serve as ambassadors of the WCBA at special events
  • Assist the WCBA with special activites such as the WCBA Homecoming, Annual Phonathon and conferences
  • Make recommendations about ways to enhance the WCBA experience
  • Provide input to the dean, faculty, staff of the WCBA regarding student needs and interests
  • Help communicate the goals and acitivities of the WCBA to the student body

SLC members are expected to attend scheduled meetings and participate in college events.

Meet the Employers Day allows employers the opportunity to interact with WCBA students to introduce them to your company, discuss internship opportunities and identify potential candidates for future employment. Employers will also have the opportunity to network with other business professionals as well as meet YSU faculty and staff. Set up for the event will start at 9:30 am in Williamson Hall Atrium. Internship Interview Day is an excellent opportunity for employers to interview WCBA students interested in a spring or summer 2016 internship positions. Employers spend the day on-campus in the Williamson College of Business Administration interviewing potential candidates for open internship positions. Interviews start at 8:30 am and are scheduled in 30-minute intervals. Employers can schedule up to nine interviews throughout the day.
