Opportunities for WCBA Students

The Business Leaders Program, a highly selective program designed for students who excel academically and demonstrate a high level of commitment to their professional and leadership development, will provide incoming freshmen with a variety of opportunities to increase their knowledge of business, accelerate their involvement with the business community, and enhance their professional preparation.

The Williamson College of Business Administration’s Center of International Business with support from the Ohio Development Services Agency (ODSA), has launched the Ohio Export Internship Program. Nine students were selected to complete a specialized exporting course and then placed in full-time paid internships with nine companies in Ohio. The YSU/Williamson College of Business Administration and the OSU/Fisher School of Business are the only two Ohio public universities to be part of this program.

Students were recruited during 2014 Fall Semester, completed specialized coursework during the Spring 2015 Semester, and accepted a guaranteed internship with nine Ohio exporting companies in May. The internships will run the first week of May through the first week of August, not to exceed 480 hours. The ODSA will allocate funding to YSU to reimburse companies at the end of the program up to 50% or $3,600.-Read More

Youngstown, OH–June 2, 2015 – The Center for Nonprofit Leadership at Youngstown State University, housed in the Williamson College of Business Administration, was awarded a $50,020 grant from The Raymond John Wean Foundation to implement the 2015 Nonprofit Leadership Summer Honors Internship Program.

The Nonprofit Leadership Summer Honors Internship Program is a biennial full-time (40 hours per week), 12-week paid internship program designed to provide 10 qualified YSU students with career-related work experience in a nonprofit or public sector organization. The internship program will run from Monday, May 18, 2015 – Friday, August 7, 2015. These internships are co-funded by the participating organizations at about 20% of the total cost of the internship. On a weekly rotation, each organization will host a site visit, tour, and professional development seminar for all participating students.
