Welcome to the Office of Student Life website.  We are dedicated to your college success and ultimate graduation!  The role of Student Life within Student Affairs is to:

  • Facilitate your involvement on campus
  • Support your personal and career development
  • Enhance your academic potential

Our programs and services work together and focus on holistic student development.

If you are a high school student, you may be able to take advantage of college preparation opportunities through Student Life’s pre-college Upward Bound and Academic Achiever’s programs.  Our Comprehensive Testing Center and CSP Orientation Services guide your entrance into Youngstown State University.  From your first day on campus and throughout your college career, our Center for Student Progress provides mentoring, campus connections, and the academic skill development needed to be successful in the classroom.   Our Counseling Center and Office of Student Conduct serve as positive support systems for personal development.  As you look forward to graduation and your chosen profession, we provide you with opportunities to increase your involvement, develop your professional aptitude, and sharpen your leadership skills through Student Employment, our Emerging Leader Program, our Office of Career Services and the Office of Student Diversity.

College is a life-altering experience – an opportunity to change your life.  I challenge you to be the star of your own show.   If you take advantage of our programs and services, you will increase the likelihood of your graduation.  Please don’t hesitate to contact me or our staff with comments, suggestions or questions.  Together, we would like to make your college years some of the best of your life.

Wishing You Great Success,

Executive Director, Student Life
