About The Summer Festival of the Arts is a collaboration between Youngstown State University and the local and regional arts community. Designed to promote the diversity of art in the Mahoning Valley, the event equally welcomes regional and national fine and performing arts. Participation by area ethnic and cultural institutions makes available opportunities for positive interaction between patrons and the community. Drawing local, regional and national artists the the Valley, you are sure to find original, hand-crafted pieces that allow you to express your personal style, through jewelry, paintings, sketches, sculptures, toys, music, or clothing. "Because the show is juried, festival-goers have the benefit our jury panel's expertise before the art even comes to the potential buyer," notes Lori A. Factor, festival coordnator. Taking just one stroll through the Marketplace delights your senses as you see many artists actually demonstrating their craft. And don't forget to bring a list of upcoming birthdays and holidays - your one-of-a-kind gift will certainly be a favorite.
