Youngstown State University Graphic Identity Standards
INTRODUCTION
In a world crowded with trademarks and “brands,” the power of Youngstown State University’s graphic identity marks is critical to the institution’s success in marketing and recruiting. The marks—among them the new wordmark (developed and adopted in 2005) and the updated Pete Penguin—must be used in the proper manner to assure consistency, clarity, and effectiveness.
Rules for the proper use of University trademarks are contained in the graphic identity standards that follow here. These rules apply to all visual communications, such as
• Publications and collateral materials (posters, postcards, flyers)
• Stationery
• Advertisements
• Signs
• Web sites and other forms of electronic media, e.g. television, billboards, video, CD/DVD.
• PowerPoint presentations
Images are available here for downloading by University offices and other authorized users. If you wish to download a particular graphic, you will need a password, which can be obtained by emailing jsengle AT ysu DOT edu. Please inform us of the use to which the mark will be put, along with phone contact information.
The Pete Penguin logo, as well as other athletics-related marks, are governed entirely by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. All requests for use of the Penguin logo must be sent to Tim Stuart at testuart AT ysu DOT edu
The Office of Marketing and Communications and the Intercollegiate Athletics Department ask for the University community’s cooperation and commitment in our efforts to market YSU successfully. |
