Students who take courses at Youngstown State University without enrolling in a degree program are considered transient/non-degree seeking students. If you are taking a course to apply toward a degree at another school, you fit into this classification and should apply for transient student admission with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions (330-941-2000).
Once accepted as a transient student, we suggest you follow our checklist below:
- Talk to your academic advisor at your current institution about YSU course. You may review our Schedule of Classes for course availability.
- In addition, verify with your academic advisor or registrar that YSU's credit will be accepted at your institution.
- Upon acceptance as a transient student, learn how to register for courses at YSU.
- Learn about your course location by studying the campus map.
- Review how to order a YSU transcript to send to your current institution.
