Transient Students

Students who take courses at Youngstown State University without enrolling in a degree program are considered transient/non-degree seeking students. If you are taking a course to apply toward a degree at another school, you fit into this classification and should apply for transient student admission with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions (330-941-2000).

Once accepted as a transient student, we suggest you follow our checklist below:

  1. Talk to your academic advisor at your current institution about YSU course.  You may review our Schedule of Classes for course availability.
  2. In addition, verify with your academic advisor or registrar that YSU's credit will be accepted at your institution.
  3. Upon acceptance as a transient student, learn how to register for courses at YSU.
  4. Learn about your course location by studying the campus map.
  5. Review how to order a YSU transcript to send to your current institution.
