Outsourcing Information Systems1: The University of Rio Grande outsources its Information Systems Computing Systems to Virtual Office Systems (VOS) in Columbus, OH. Through this collaboration with VOS, services can be offered 24-7, even though the Rio Office has only 2 full-time employees. Rio employees can work almost anytime, anywhere. VOS is able to provide expertise that Rio does not have in house. Outsourcing opens the possibly of sharing Information Systems with other colleges. This presentation will be co-presented with Virtual Office Systems.

I will analyse and critique some of the most recent research findings on the use of social media, mobile (cellphone) learning and the smart eXtended Web. I will explore the evolution of the web and provide several models of web evolution, identifying trends and movements that will indicate what we might expect in the near future.
