Dr. Robert Beebe

Professor of Educational Leadership at YSU, 2008-present
Chairperson, Department of Educational Foundations, Research, Technology, and Leadership, 1990 to 1997 and 2002 to 2007.

Founding Chairperson of department; developed and inaugurated Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) program in Educational Leadership, the first doctoral program at the university. 

Interim Chairperson, Department of Counseling, 2005 to 2006. 

Scholarly activities include 20 national refereed articles or book chapters, 10 national refereed presentations, 1 international refereed presentation, and three major grants from the Ohio Department of Education for a total of $691,500.

Awards include two Watson Merit Awards from YSU for performance as department chairperson, 1993 and 2004; YSU’s Chairpersons’ Leadership Award, 1996; Mahoning County Association of Elementary School Principals Educator of the Year Award, 1993; and Featured Speaker, University Honors Convocation, 1993. 

Other teaching and research awards received at previous university, The University of Mississippi.

Ohio Department of Education Activities include service as Accreditation Reviewer for Educational Leadership Constituent Council (ELCC), 2003 to present; membership on Teacher Leader Licensure Endorsement Writing Team, 2008; Principal Standards Implementation Team, 2006-2007; Principal Standards Alignment Team, 2006; Praxis III Assessor, 1997 to 2006 (conducted 24 assessments of beginning teachers); Principal Standards Writing Team, 2004-2005; and Peer Reviewer of licensure programs in Educational Administration, 1999.

Bachelor’s degree in Government (1967) from Harvard University

Master’s degree in Instructional Supervision (1971), Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (1972), and Doctor of Education degree (1974) from the College of William and Mary.
