Youngstown State University offers a six or seven year combined BS/MD program to a select group of students. Students who pursue this program obtain their BS degree in two or three years of full-time study at YSU. Students are admitted into the program directly out of high school and receive a reserved seat in medical school as long as all undergraduate requirements for matriculation onto NEOMED are completed. The MD portion of the program is completed at NEOMED - Northeast Ohio Medical University (formerly NEOUCOM). High school seniors who are interested in this program apply directly to the medical college, which then forwards all required ACT/SAT scores and high school transcripts to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at YSU. Qualified students are chosen for a campus interview, and, from those interviewed, 35 students are selected for each entering class.
