Physics and Astronomy
Photonic, Optical, and Electonic Materials Group

The Photonic, Optical, and Electonic Materials Group was formed by faculty in the YSU Physics & Astronomy Department who share a strong interest in the study of new materials and new applications of materials for photonics, optics, and electronics. We are affiliated with the Center for Layered Polymer Systems (CLiPS), a National Science Foundation-sponsored Science & Technology Center, led by Case Western Reserve University, and we are participants in the Ohio Department of Development-sponsored Research Cluster on Surfaces in Advanced Materials, led by Kent State University’s Liquid Crystal Institute and also including researchers from the Physics Department at Case Western Reserve University.
