Professional Experience

Prof. Kurtanich has over seventeen years of practical engineering experience in the civil / construction engineering fields prior to joining the faculty in 1997.    His professional experience includes design, analysis, construction management and inspection on projects for state and local governments, as well as private developers and industrial clients.  Since joining the faculty in the School of Engineering Technology, Prof. Kurtanich has been a leader in developing academic programs in civil and construction engineering technology, instrumental in the development of an undergraduate research program in engineering technology, and expanding the partnerships with local industry and the outside community.

  • Computing applications for the engineering and construction tasks of analysis, synthesis, and evaluation
  • Behavior of masonry lintels under dynamic loads
  • Use of the collaborative problem-based learning approach in engineering technology;
