Dear Prospective Music Student:

The faculty, administration, and students of Youngstown State University's Dana School of Music are excited that you are considering attending the 2012 Dana School of Music Open House. The 2012 Dana School of Music Open House will be held on Monday, October 8, 2012 in Bliss Hall on the YSU Campus.

Activities begin at 8:30 a.m. and include:

• Learn about music scholarships, University admissions & financial aid
• Visit typical college music classes
• Attend clinics on audition preparation and music theory
• Learn about careers in music and the curriculum for majors in music
• Meet the music faculty
• Observe ensemble rehearsals

As many as 100 high school students annually visit the Dana School of Music for this event where they can attend rehearsals of the college's large ensembles: Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Dana Chorale, Dana University Chorus, Jazz Ensemble I, Jazz Ensemble II, and Dana Symphony Orchestra.

Students will also be able to sit in on classes, workshops and rehearsals of the small ensembles at the college. Staff from the University's admissions and financial aid offices are available to answer questions. In addition, visiting students can meet with music faculty members.
