The Office of Distance Education at Youngstown State University offers accredited online degree programs for both bachelor's and master's students in fully online, convenient formats.

As an office that supports both students and faculty, we have complementary mission statements that can direct the efforts equally for both populations.

Students:  The Office of Distance Education at YSU will support the delivery of high-quality, accredited, fully online degree programs, and provide world-class customer service to assist in the gainful employment of YSU online learners.

Faculty:  The Office of Distance Education at YSU will support and assist in the creation, delivery, training, and student support for our faculty teaching distance learners in all online degree programs offered.

For the 2nd consecutive year, graduates of YSU's Beeghly College of Education lead the state of Ohio in achieving 100% passing rates on licensure exams.

The undergraduate Engineering program at YSU places in the top 25% in the world, under rankings released by U.S. News and World Report (January 2014).

YSU’s Williamson College of Business Administration is among the Best for Vets business schools nationwide per Military Times EDGE (March 2014) based on a culture and curriculum that caters to military veterans.

YSU has been named a Military Friendly School for five consecutive years by G.I. Jobs magazine. The Office of Veteran Affairs at YSU was established in 2009 to assist YSU students who have served or are currently serving in the armed forces.

To withdraw from a course(s): access the MyYSU Portal-Registration, confirm withdrawal was correctly processed/ courses deleted.  Not attending or notifying the instructor/ dept doesn't constitute official withdrawal.  (330) 941-6000

Last day to withdraw and receive a 100% refund:  full-term & 1st 6-wk term - June 1st, middle 6-wk term - June 29th, 2nd 6-wk term - July 13th. 

Last day to withdraw with a grade of "W":  1st 6-wk term - June 12th, full-term - July 7th, middle term - July 10th, 2nd 6-wk term - July 24th.
