DISTANCE EDUCATION MISSION:

The mission of distance education at the Youngstown State University is to extend faculty expertise and other resources beyond the physical limits of the campuses to meet learning needs of state, regional, and national audiences. In addition, campus programs and courses will be enriched by these linkages, and cooperative arrangements with other state colleges and universities. The university will provide high quality education through distance education by offering a broad range of certificate, associate, baccalaureate, and graduate programs. These are delivered via technology, maximizing accessibility by removing the barriers of location and time. Distance Education courses and services of the highest quality will be delivered in a timely, customer-oriented, and cost-efficient manner.

DISTANCE EDUCATION VISION STATEMENT:

Distance Education at Youngstown State University will prepare students for a world in which information and economic environments are becoming globalized. Through technologically-enhanced teaching-learning opportunities, the university will reach out to a community of learners by creating learning environments that students will find to be:

  • Accommodating to students' schedules
