Penguin Parent and Family Email
First-Year Student Services offers a free monthly service to all "Penguin Parents/Family" members which features an e-mail account that has been created for the sole purpose of answering questions and concerns of YSU parents/and family. The e-mail questions are answered promptly during YSU working hours Monday through Friday 8 am - 5 pm by the Assistant Director of First-Year Student Services. Both the questions and answers remain confidential. As mandated by FERPA, no specific information about your student’s performance can be provided.
In addition to asking questions, you can send an e-mail to sign up for the Penguin Parents/Family e-newsletter that is sent out once monthly during your student’s first semester of college. This e-newsletter keeps you aware of both what is happening on campus and what important events and dates are occurring.

If you have concerns about your student and would like to talk to someone face-to-face, you can make an appointment with the Assistant Director of First-Year Student Services. You can meet one-on-one with the FYSS Assistant Director or you can include your student in the meeting. Call (330) 941-7492 for an appointment.
