The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (Buckley Amendment) or FERPA is a Federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. This law applies to all schools that receive funds under an applicable program of the U.S. Department of Education. FERPA gives students and parents certain rights with respect to education records.
The Office of the Registrar encourages students and their families to review our online FERPA presentation and YSU's Your Right to Know documentation for additional information. For questions about FERPA, please contact the Student One Stop at 330-941-6000.
