DR. CRYSHANNA A. JACKSON
Assistant Professor Urban Internship CoordinatorDr. Jackson started out her educational career at Miami University in Oxford, OH where she received a bachelor’s degree in Health and Sport Studies. She continued on her educational journey to West Virginia University obtaining a Masters in Sport Management, after which she received a PhD from the University of Akron in Public Administration and Urban Studies. Dr. Jackson’s teaching experience began as an Adjunct Professor at Baldwin Wallace College in the Division of Health and Physical Education; she also served as an Adjunct Professor at The University of Akron in the Sport Science and Wellness Department, and as an Upward Bound Teacher at Kent State University. Since starting at YSU she has been active on numerous committees and currently serves as the urban internship coordinator for the department. Her number one priority is teaching and she is determined to provide students with the best overall educational experience possible. Dr. Jackson has published several articles in the Journal of Public Management & Social Policy and has presented her research at numerous conferences. She is a member of the American Society of Public Administration (ASPA), the Conference of Public Administrators (COMPA), Board Member and Secretary for the Women’s History Project of the Akron Area and serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Public Management and Social Policy.
