Financial assistance is available to graduate students enrolled in degree programs in the form of graduate assistantships, scholarships, grant-in-aid, and federal aid. Graduate assistantships are awarded only to accepted graduate students and are usually awarded for a period of two semesters, beginning with the fall semester. Scholarships and grants-in-aid are available to a limited number of graduate students for a maximum of 4 semester hours per term, based on the following criteria: 9 semester hours of YSU graduate credit, minimum 3.6 GPA; or 6 semester hours of YSU graduate credit, 4.0 GPA.
Transient Students
Students from another graduate school attending YSU for one semester only must obtain a Transient Student Form from the YSU Graduate Studies office. This form must be completed by the Dean of the Graduate School in which the student is enrolled and returned by the college to the School of Graduate Studies of YSU. Transcripts are not required.
