Submission Deadlines

Please submit electronically by January 1, 2012.  Save your work as a Word document or .rtf and attach in an email to PenRevYSU AT gmail DOT com.  Please include your name, address, phone number, and email address, and include your name and the genre of your submission in the email subject line.

Notification of acceptance or rejection will be sent via email.

Submission Guidelines

Submissions are open to YSU students, faculty, alumni, community members, out-of-town friends, and people who just heard of the Penguin Review through the grapevine.  If you've written it, we want it.

Poetry

Send up to five poems that speak to the theme.  We do not discriminate based on length, use of form, or aesthetic, but we ask that your work stick with us after we've put it down and gone to make a sandwich.

Fiction/Nonfiction

Send us up to 3500 words of fiction and/or nonfiction.  We appreciate voice and narrative energy and like work that takes risks.
